DAVID ETTERSHANK — To move —

That this House notes that —

  1. as of 3 August 2026, there have been 299 unanswered questions sent to ministers from the Legislative Council;
  2. some of these questions have remained unanswered for over a year;
  3. given recent cabinet reshuffles, it appears unlikely that questions will be responded to before the end of this Parliament at which time these matters will be declared discharged;
  4. this contravenes Standing Order 8.12(1), which states that “Ministers have a responsibility to provide, within a reasonable time, an answer which is relevant to the question”;
  5. this is another example of this Government’s disregard of transparency;

and calls on the Government to respond to questions before the end of this parliamentary term.
