Ali Moore speaks with Tony Parsons, who chaired a consultation report on medicinal cannabis and driving. Legalise Cannabis Victoria commissioned the report which outlines a proposal to allow judicial discretion for medicinal cannabis patients who test positive to THC in a roadside drug test.
Under the proposal, courts would have the discretion to consider ‘on a case by case basis’ whether the driver was taking cannabis as prescribed by their doctor.
