David makes a contribution to debate on a bill which introduces miscellaneous changes to support the courts and VCAT, implement recommendations regarding police coronial investigators and improve the operation of various justice and legal Acts. It also expands firefighters’ presumptive rights legislation to include three female specific cancers.
David Ettershank spoke in support of a motion acknowledging that the recognition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders as the First Peoples of Australia in the Australian constitution is long overdue.

On Wednesday, 2nd of August 2023, David Ettershank, Member for Western Metropolitan Melbourne, rose to speak on a motion by Liberal MP Georgie Crozier to establish a special committee to investigate the cancellation of the Commonwealth Games.
