David ETTERSHANK (Western Metropolitan): My constituency question is for the Minister for Transport and Infrastructure. My constituent is a resident of Gladstone Park and is concerned about the impacts of the proposed third runway at Melbourne Airport. Studies show a third runway would have a detrimental impact on the health and amenity of residents like my constituent who live under the proposed new flight paths. My constituent asks: what studies have or will the state government undertake to assess the potential health and amenity impact on residents and communities arising from the proposed third runway?

Melbourne Airport’s operations, including its flight paths and airspace, are regulated by the Commonwealth Government and do not fall within my portfolio responsibilities. The Member for Western Metropolitan Region may wish to raise his constituent’s concerns with the Commonwealth Minister for Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Development, the Hon Catherine King MP.
